This is a courtroom artist’s (or I guess prison artist’s) sketch of Lindsay Lohan getting cuffed pre-jailing. Other than the fact the likeness sucks (these courtroom sketch artists are usually pretty talentless, imho), I think this is actually a very beautiful piece.  It reminds me of those preliminary sketches that comic book and animation artists do before inking the finished product. It has an ethereal quality about it. I would put this up in my home somewhere, actually.

Frankly, I’m not sure why Lindsay is going to jail. Violating probation? If so, what was the original charge? Drug possession? Drunk driving? They all seem plausible, sadly.

I’ve been trying to imagine what I would do if I went to (minimum security) jail. My view of prison is informed mostly by the movies. I picture lots of avuncular Morgan Freeman-types walking around waiting to take me under their wing à la Shawshank Redemption. But, also lots of free time in the yard with my friends doing push-ups and sit-ups,  like Nicolas Cage in Con Air.  

I suspect I’m a bit off the mark.
