These are costumes from a movie they were in “Black and White” (1999). They are *meant* to look like wannabe hip-hop weirdos. Hardly a time capsule of 90s fashion. nedhepburn: The 90’s were a rough decade for a lot of people, and for fashion in particular. We were midway between the actual future and that unedifying version of the future we’d conjured in our heads thanks to decades of new wave songs and science fiction novels. Take Brooke Shields and Robert Downey Jr here, for example. This is an example of two wrongs making a right - everything right - about this photograph.
